Here you can find my strategie that I used to win the 2 houres 45 minutes endurance of Infineon Raceway in a Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car '89, in this race I was abble to beat the other fast car, the Sauber Mercedes C9, with a lead of more than 1 lap.
The starting grid .
The competitors:
Nissan R89C Race Car '89
Chevrolet Corvette C5R (C5) '00
Nissan R92CP Race Car '92
Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car '98
Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car '89
Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car '89
My car.
The Car :
The Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car of 1989, 919 BHP that will increase till more than 950 BHP after a oilchange.
You win this car in the El Capitan Endurance of 200 miles (66 laps) and this race take's about 2 houre's racing with a car of over 700 BHP. (I raced this one with the Nissan Fairlady Z Concept)
The tyres that I used.
Tyres:
For a small price you will get the Racing tyres, I choosed for a two different tyre setup because the Toyota wears is rear tyre's fast because of it's power, there I use Racing Super Hard tyres.
The front tyres are 'softer' with the choice of Racing hard,
they are still good enough when the rear tyres are wear out.
Laptime's under 1'23".
Playing with B-Spec:
When you play 'passive' with B-Spec, you'll notice that when you set it to 'Medium pace' (3) the car is simply to slow to win this race (laptime's around 1'27) and you will get beat by the Sauber Mercedes C9, the 'fastest' car in this race.
When you set B-Spec in 'increased pace' (4) then the car is simply to fast for some of the corners, he will drift of course and you will loose time again.
So I play 'active' with B-Spec, I 'push hard' (5) when the road is clear and the car is abble to go as fast as it's can, go 'slow pace' (1) when it's absolutely desired (tight cornering)
Also I noticed that the amount of fuel wich was left in the tank, the moment the car must pit, was about 20 liters, so I decided to go for 60 liters between the 2 stops (and it payed off)
I was abble to be the fastest car on track all the time, so to loose this race I must make a terrible mistake, wich I did'nt.
60 liter fuel.
Playing with B-Spec:
Half way the race, got al ready 1 lap in front, switch to 'passive' playing, except for 'pitting', go for 55 liters of fuel wich give me a few 100e lap time win, every 5 laps I go 'active', push where it's needed and it's save.
55 liter fuel .
Refuel:
The pictures of fueling, 2 picture's where the second picture is the next frame of the game so you can see that I pushed the 'X' button for 'Pitwork Complete'.
The pitcrew mount, when it's not done yet, the four tyres, but stops directly the fueling of the car.
This way you win about 5 to 10 seconds less in the pit.
Pit stop.
Entering pit :
When you enter the pit you have a few option, you can change the type of tyre you want to use (wich are available / purchased for/by yourself before the race started)
You can set 'Refuel' on 'NO', they will not refuel your car this time.
Also you can change the driver, B-Spec: the cpu is playing for you, A-Spec: you'll have to drive yourself when leaving pit.
Don't forget to push 'X' for OK, otherwise you loose again about 5 seconds before the pitcrew takes any action.
1 lap ahead - race monitor .
Race monitor:
Here you can see the exact possition of the competitors, you are still be able to 'play active' with B-Spec, only you can't see the exact race track, so making mistakes in here is possible, so I won't recommend this way of playing B-Spec.
Be carefull with you're pace when going in here.
But in here you can speed up the race it self by 3 times the real time, so a 24 houre race would take about 9 houres to finish if you play it smart.
Finish.
Finish:
Here the result of the Infineon Raceway Endurance, in second place the Sauber Mercedes C9, 1 lap behind.
